NHMRC HAS RELEASED THE DRAFT AUSTRALIAN INFECTION CONTROL GUIDELINES: PREVENTING AND MANAGING INFECTION IN HEALTH CARE


The National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) has released the draft Australian Infection Control Guidelines: preventing and managing infection in health care (the draft Guidelines) for public comment on 8 January 2010. The Guidelines have been developed in partnership with the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Healthcare and outline the core strategies that can be implemented by health care workers and managers to prevent and control healthcare associated infection.

The copies of the draft guidelines and supporting documents and information on how to prepare a submission are available on the NHMRC website at http://www.nhmrc.gov.au/guidelines/consult/index.htm.

The closing date for submission is 10 March 2010.
